Behold Your God! #49
from EIGHTH COMMANDMENT on SermonAudio Hosted by Guy Smith
The sermon explores the Eighth Commandment, "You shall not steal," by examining its statement, extent, and theological basis. It defines theft broadly to include actions, thoughts, and attitudes such as fraud, laziness, and kidnapping, while affirming that private property is a good creation ordinance from God. The preacher argues that the positive counterpart to this prohibition is diligent work and generous giving to meet the needs of others. Drawing on Pauline epistles and the Sermon on the Mount, the message connects honest labor with the ability to support the community and fulfill the law of love. Ultimately, the teaching encourages believers to view work not as a burden but as a sacred duty that reflects God's character and promotes neighborly care.
