Being a Daily Disciple in the Interruptions

from NCC Unplugged · host Norwin Christian Church

Most of us treat interruptions as obstacles, but some of them are actually invitations from God to something greater. In Luke 10, two stories reveal two kinds of good interruptions every follower of Jesus needs to be open to. The Good Samaritan shows us what it looks like to truly see a person in need and respond with biblical pity, which moves us to action rather than just sympathy. Mary and Martha remind us that it is possible to be so busy doing things for Jesus that we miss simply being with Him. Jesus Himself modeled a rhythm of withdrawal and rest, and He calls us into that same pattern. Slowing down is not passive. It is intentional, and it is how we make ourselves available to what God is doing around us.
