Being a mom is not a diagnosis with Dr. Danielle Watson and the creator of The Mother Doctor

from Can't Call Your Mom with Nicole Weston · host Nicole Weston | Motherless mothers navigating life after motherloss

Today I shared some deep conversations with Dr. Danielle Watson a naturopathic doctor and the creator of The Mother Doctor.  1. I want to share with you what I loved about our chat. 2. The value of taking 40 days after birth to rest and heal 3. It’s time to end the “suck it up” culture and step into optimizing our health  4. We are so much more than moms and we deserve to have health in mind, body and spirit. Stepping into the realness of postpartum and sharing our own experiences will create more connection because we are not meant to do this alone.  Inspired by my journey with my patients & seeing that we can help with issues that stem in earlier motherhood, to prevent issues down the road.  Mothers do not need to accept ill health as part of motherhood.  Dr. Danielle Watson is a naturopathic doctor & creator of The Mother Doctor. In her private practice, she treats mothers from preconception to pregnancy & through to the postpartum. Dr. Watson has made it her goal to change the dynamic in healthcare so that new mothers feel supported as they navigate their motherhood journey. Dr. Watson is a speaker, educator & activist for motherhood, looking to spread the message that ‘being a mom is not a diagnosis'. Dr. Watson sees patients living in Ontario online, & in-person in Bradford & Georgina.  Dr. Watson completed her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Prior to that she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Dr. Watson is a National Committee member for the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative, which is an organization seeking to create a national perinatal mental healthcare strategy for Canada.
