Being a Neurodiverse Mom and Blameless Guilt with Becky Tilley
from Brave Together Podcast: Support and Community for Caregiving Parents · host Jessica Patay
Hello Brave Friends! On this story episode we’re talking about being a neurodiverse mama and dealing with blameless guilt. What is blameless guilt? It’s guilt we feel when the unthinkable happens and we have no one to blame for it; like passing down genetics to our children. This guilt is tricky. It hangs around us, invisible, easily dismissed by our nearest and dearest but always finding its way back to us. How do we deal with it? Are we stuck with it?Our storyteller, this episode, is Becky Tilley, who found out her two youngest children have a rare chromosome disorder called Koolen-de Vries syndrome (KDVS). And then, if that wasn’t stressful enough, she found out she had it too. Becky is a passionate advocate for embracing uniqueness and finding strength in adversity. Her personal journey with rare diagnoses, as well as her experiences as a parent, inspired her to share her story with others. Through her writing, she hopes to inspire individuals to embrace their own journeys and celebrate their unique paths.Find Becky Tilley’s Book, Thrive Rare: Embracing the Uniqueness Within here.Find Becky on:Instagram hereTwitter hereYoutube hereFacebook hereJOIN the international community of We Are Brave Together here.Donate to our Retreats and Respite Scholarships here.Donate to keep this podcast going here. Can’t get enough of the Brave Together Podcast?Follow our Instagram Page @wearebravetogether or on Facebook.Feel free to contact Jessica Patay via email: [email protected] you have any topic requests or if you would like to share a story, leave us a message here. Please leave a review and rating today!
