Being Dumbest In The Room Is Good - 12/14/2022: A Phil Svitek Vlog

from A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach · host Phil Svitek

This past week I took several meetings regarding my upcoming project which aims to utilize NFTs. And in these meetings I was the dumbest person in the room! Everyone talked in depth about NFTs, Web3, Discord, the Metaverse, AI technology, etc. And it was exciting because I got to learn from them! That's why being the dumbest person in the room is a major advantage. And I never took my ignorance as a weakness because I know I can learn, from them and my own research. Asking them questions LETS me learn. I also share how a recent Gary Vee episode (from The Gary Vee Audio Experience) made me consider the space differently. But ultimately how the fundamentals apply no matter what, which is that it takes TIME to build meaningful projects. Everyone talks about excitedly about "the grind" when things are going well. But what about when it's hard? That's the real test. After that, I talk about my experience of pitching my latest project, the importance of turning routine into ritual so you can pay attention to moments, writing my filmmaking non fiction book, and how to prepare yourself for a QC (if you're an indie filmmaker).
