Well hello welcome to the Daily Grateful my name is Michael Gross and what am I grateful for today? It's gonna come with a story. You know it's gonna come with a story. So let's just get started on it I mean shared with you.

I think I did that I was starting a trial. I was I had signed up and was going for a trial to Get a GLP possibly a GLP one drug that was made by the only thing I know is made by Eli Lilly They're the folks who make Monjiro I believe I'm not positive about that but I was going to go up to another county every week And I was going to you know they put me through the ring or they did all these tests did all this blood work Did all this physical exams blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and then once I started taking the medication I had a 50% chance of the medication being the real thing or a 50% chance of it being a placebo And I said yeah, worth a shot plus they were paying me amazing So I thought that was pretty cool too, but I wanted to go on a GLP one drug For a while because I've been watching it on TikTok and people losing weight and all of this good type of stuff Another thing I need to tell you about myself is that I have been teetering on type 2 diabetes for a while now You know right up to the edge, but not quite there Maybe one toe over the edge and I kept saying to myself I can deal with this with diet and the doctor I was going to at the time was one of these how can I say it? How can I say this it was corporate medicine multinational conglomerate that you know had bought out the doctor that I was going to And they change all the protocols and their protocols called if this comes on doctor doesn't make a decision If this comes on you look at the computer and it says you have to do this you know doctors are not allowed to think this is what it is Do do do do do I wasn't happy there I'd gone to another doctor for years in the little town of Dunedin that I loved but my insurance at the time decided that they didn't love each other So I had to leave that's why I wound up with corporate doctor if any of that makes sense I'm gonna be editing that a lot of this so anyway I got new insurance and I got to go back to my old doctor So that was good, but I'm getting ahead of myself I go up there they do blood work and then all of a sudden I get a call from the nice people and they say gosh Michael We're kicking you off of the trial. I said well, that's not nice And I said yeah, but your a1c is no longer dingling around the edges of diabetes Dingling around the edges at like 6.1 or something like that Maybe even as high as seven but not really I was at 10.3 So he said you are now no longer, but we're gonna send all your blood work to your doctor I said thank you so they sent all their blood work to my new doctor who was my old doctor This is getting confusing so being a bundle of nerves and it's it's a bundle of nerves kind of weak All right, I had the appointment I went in there this morning at nine o'clock and met the same old provider that I had before Wonderful lady and she was glad to see me and we chatted and we talked and they sent it to you She goes well, hang on.

Let me find it. She couldn't find it. Then she found it. Oh 10.3 I said yeah, all right corporate medicine would immediately tell you that you have to go on and sell them I said yeah, just I'm gonna tell you something else.

I said what she goes I'm gonna put you on those epic and we're gonna start today Well, that was good news because ozimpic is a diabetes drug, which is true All right, but it's also a GLP1 which helps you lose weight Which is what I wanted which is why I went to that trial anyway And now I don't have a 50% chance of getting it. I've got a hundred percent chance of getting it and my insurance covers it And isn't that grand so I'm very very I've never given myself an injection today and she pulls it out system We're gonna teach you how to do it. You don't have to do it I did it easy peasy once a week give myself an injection and what I found out about ozimpic from her is that what it does is If you eat a carbohydrate and I've been guilty of eating a carbohydrate or two What it immediately does is it tells your pancreas Hey, go get those carbohydrates and make some insulin and go grab it and take it away So I like that that's good And she said we're starting you off at a low rate and I've they gave me a six week supply and taught me how to do it and You'll gradually work your way up to a point five. I think it is.

I don't know I'm starting at a 2.5 or a point to five. I don't know two five and then I'm going up to a five I don't know what the measurement is. I'm not a doctor I don't even play one on the radio, but anyway, I gave myself the injection. It was fine My son is a type one diabetic.

He lives here. He knows all about this So next Wednesday when I go to do this again, I'm gonna have him right there watching me, which is good I like that And I'm looking forward to grabbing hold of my health and one of the things about being grateful for health challenges Is that if you're grateful, which I was today I was extremely grateful. It boosts your mood It did boost my mood and it reduced my stress and hopefully it's gonna increase You know, it's going to improve my sleep quality I found out by going to a talk one time that constantly practicing gratitude no matter what can strengthen your immune system And I think we all need that I would love to see the double blind test on that one But that's what I heard someone say to talk. I don't know if it's true I don't think it is, but I don't know I'm I swear to try because I'm trying to be grateful all the damn time The other thing it does is it fosters positive emotions Feeling thankful can actually increase your resilience.

Do I have any resilience left? Yes, I think I do because I got good news today and it's it's you know, I have stress for tomorrow A lot of stress for tomorrow, but I will get through it and I will be grateful. I will be very grateful You all have a really good day
