In this episode of Being Heard: 2 Black Women, Coffee & Conversations (10), guest, Clemente Love, talks about what it takes to become a "doula," a woman, typically without formal obstetric training, who is employed to provide guidance and support to a pregnant woman during labor.Originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Love has been living in Indianola, Iowa for almost four years now, where her original passion is dealing in the communications industry because she loves helping people. She is a mom of two who discovered after the birth of her son, she had a hard time with breastfeeding as well as other traumatic experiences when her daughter was born. This was her real big introduction into self-advocacy, especially for Black mothers like herself.
