Being Kingdom Minded in a Castle World

Words like kingdom get sung in worship and prayed in the Lord's Prayer, but rarely defined. This message opens a series by pressing a harder question: what does it actually mean to belong to God's kingdom rather than to build our own castle? Working from Romans 12:1-2 , the teaching describes a kingdom as a territory where a king rules through his will, power, and law. A castle world inverts that, putting our preferences in charge. The first sin, and the recurring one, is the desire to be king ourselves. The Bible, not personal preference, is the kingdom's constitution. The application is corporate and outward: a personal relationship with Jesus was never meant to be private. To be kingdom-minded is to invade earth with heaven through love and the gospel, knowing our limitations, remaining students of Christ, and refusing to compete with other churches.
