Being Peacemakers in a Divisive World

Does a peacemaker create peace by avoiding contentious issues? Do they keep silent and remain passive in order to maintain the peace? In Scripture, we see that believers are called to be peacemakers; however, we see that this is actually not a call to silence, avoidance, and passivity. In the Bible, peace is not just the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of Jesus. So we don’t pretend everything is fine or avoid hard things in order to keep the peace.
