Being Transgender In Alabama; UA Student Speaks Out (Part Two)

Evan Higginbotham is a junior, majoring in psychology at the University of Alabama. He is also transgender and was recently the focus of a Crimson White cover-story, "The Person I Was Born To Be". Born a woman, Higginbotham first felt that he was male around the age of 3. But it wasn't until 2013, when Higginbotham was 30 years old that he first started taking testosterone shots. After years of drug and alcohol abuse, he says that his life has been changed and that now has a goal- helping other transgender people. Hannah Widener is a CW reporter who wrote the article about Higginbotham (along with Francie Johnson) and also joined in on the conversation.
