Belmont Stakes Update June 6th, 2026

In the final leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown was the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes with Golden Tempo becoming the winner in a close one. This year, there will be no Triple Crown winner due to Golden Tempo not participating in the Preakness Stakes and winning only two out of the three races including this year’s Belmont Stakes and Kentucky Derby. The last Triple Crown winner was Justify winning it in 2018. The jockey for Golden Tempo was Jose Ortiz, and the trainer was Cherie DeVaux. The rest of the results were Commandment finishing in second place; followed by Renegade in third place and finishing in fourth was Chief Wallabee. Due to construction at Belmont Park in Elmont on New York’s Long Island, this year’s race marked the third time in history that it took place at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. New York governor Kathy Hochul announced that next year the race will return to its home at Belmont Park.
