江戸の下町に住んでいるおしずとたいちの親子の所に、ある日おこまという女が訪ねてきて、「あずけていた息子を返してくれ」と言ってきました。 しかし、昔あずかったおこまの息子は病で死んでしまっています。 たいちは自分の息子だと言うおしずとおこまの二人の言い争いは続き、とうとう町奉行の大岡越前守に訴え出る事になりました。 （福娘童話集より読ませていただいています。）
