Ben-Gvir’s Torture Video Was Just The Start; The Cameras Caught Something Else

from Kernow Damo

Israel stopped the flotilla boats, but forgot the witnesses were coming home with eyes, bruises and voices as another ministers video drops. Right, so Israel seized the aid boats, dragged hundreds of people into custody, had its own ministers film the humiliation, and now the people who came out are alleging torture, beatings, sexual violence and abuse. People who were trying to get aid towards Gaza were intercepted in international waters, taken through Israeli control, and then emerged through deportation routes with injuries, testimony and allegations that Israel cannot evade and actually isn’t trying to in the usual manner of the self proclaimed perma-victims, they’re trying something else. Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s national security minister and the far-right showman of Netanyahu’s coalition, had already posted his little victory performance with detainees bound, blindfolded and forced down, a video clip that has gone viral where he is even heard telling us to ignore the screaming going on behind him, because for as much as Israel and several Israeli politicians are pointing to him as an abhorrent exception, another video has come out which blows their weasel words right out of the water. That was Miri Regev, Israel’s transport minister and not one of Ben Gvir or Bezalel Smotrich’s far right parties, because she’s a member of Benjamin Netanyahu’s own Likud party, so proof it seems that this is more like the prevailing attitude rather than one extremist minister having a nasty day out and of course we know that to be the case really don’t we? Look at Gaza, look at Lebanon, all of that was voted through and Ben Gvir cannot pull that off on his lonesome. The cameras did not just catch Ben-Gvir being Ben-Gvir.
