Dawn services were held across the Gold Coast on Anzac Day, with large crowds gathering at Surfers Paradise and Currumbin despite rainy conditions. Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith attended the Currumbin service with his father, where he was approached by supporters and briefly spoke to media, emphasising the day was about honouring all veterans past and present.
