Bench Talk | 'Stand Up For Science' rally in Frankfort, KY (Part-1) | March 10, 2025

from Forward Radio podcasts · host Forward Radio

As in 31 other cities, there was a 'Stand Up For Science' rally held at the state capital in Frankfort, KY on Friday, March 7, 2025. There were hundreds of researchers, students, doctors, teachers and science-supporters there, all expressing concern for the state of science. Since becoming president, Donald Trump has tried to cut billions of dollars from current research projects, paused communications to the public from federal health and environmental agencies, terminated DEI initiatives, nominated anti-science cabinet members, and withdrew from the 2015 international Paris climate agreement. On today's show you can hear the first three speakers from the Frankfort rally. Other speakers will be featured on our show next week.
