Send us Fan MailBeneath the HeatAnger can be bright, immediate and full of energy. It can arrive as sharpness, pressure, heat, defence, withdrawal, or the sudden need to push something away. This episode begins beneath that heat.Beneath the Heat is a Sourel for the woman who is ready to listen for the tenderness anger may be guarding. It does not ask the fire to disappear. It does not ask the softer place beneath it to reveal itself before it feels safe. It simply creates a sacred pause where both strength and vulnerability are allowed to belong. This reflection explores the possibility that beneath anger there may be hurt, fear, sadness, disappointment, shame, loneliness, grief, or the ache of not feeling important. Anger may have stepped forward because something more tender did not feel protected enough to stand alone.Beneath the Heat honours the wisdom of the feminine system. Sometimes softness was not safe. Sometimes tears were ignored. Sometimes needs were dismissed. Sometimes tenderness needed armour. So the fire came forward. This Sourel invites the listener to ask gently, what might be underneath this. Not to bypass anger. Not to make tenderness more acceptable than fire. But to widen the room so more of the inner truth can be held.Beneath the Heat is part of The Fire Within, a September Sourel series for women learning to hear the sacred message inside anger. It is a return to the places where hurt, truth, dignity and inner light have been waiting beneath the noise.Beneath the heat, there may be a part of you that has waited a long time for protection that does not require hiding. If you find yourself wanting something to return to between these reflections, in the actual moment a pattern like this one takes hold, I also built an app called Settle and Source. It offers a ninety-second guided practice for exactly the kind of moment this reflection has been describing, the gap between noticing an urge and knowing what to do with it. It is not a replacement for anything here, simply another door, in case it is the right one for you. https://settleandsource.comSettle and Source: The Podcast is created by Angela M.
