And your computer hard drive can die, and so can your external backup drive. So saving your important data in more than one place is a great idea. This day is all about taking a moment to protect your data, so you don’t end up in full panic mode when disaster strikes. And that brings us to today’s quote, which comes from none other than Benjamin Franklin, who once said: "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." Ol’ Ben wasn’t talking about hard drives and cloud storage, but honestly, he might as well have been. Because if you don’t back up your data, you’re basically inviting catastrophe. Just like you wouldn't leave your front door wide open with a sign that says "Please steal my stuff," you shouldn't leave your important files unprotected, hoping nothing bad happens. Think of backups as a safety net. You hope you never need them, but when you do, you’ll be grateful they’re there. So, let today be your reminder—back up your photos, your documents, your work projects.
