Alright guys, it's not an episode, Mark's here in the episode of Read Papers with Marcus, so um, just listen at your own rest. That one also. No, now why I changed this because I was originally just called reading papers and then my brother told me, like, just put it in the rest of that funny so that's why I changed. Alright, today we're gonna be in one of my older papers.
I'm trying to remember, I think this one was a high school paper from, I wanna say freshman year, could have been middle school though. Yes, Jonathan Edwards and Benjamin Franklin, it's kind of a compare and contrast between the two, so we're both in the same time. Well, we'll just get right into it. So Jonathan Edwards and Benjamin Franklin were alike in that both had an impact on the world during the same time in history.
Franklin and all the great things he did with the colonies, with his many great inventions and his paper, and his newspaper, and his health informing the political views of this new nation. Now, Edwards had an impact on the great awakening by preaching to the people. They are also both alike in that they were born in America and both wrote pamphlets, articles, and essays. Now, however, they definitely had their differences in their religious stand, points and professions.
Franklin's religious stand point was that everybody is good if they were card out being good. So many people think that Franklin was a deist. But he believed in God, but thought that we had no need of a Savior and that Jesus was not God's Son. Just a really good person.
On the other hand, people think that he was not a deist because he thought we should listen to Jesus' teachings but not to accept him as the Savior to mankind. Now the deists would ignore everything to do with Jesus. He could say that Franklin made up his own type of deism doctrine because he still had Jesus but he was like he's a really good person. I think that's how they kind of do it in the Quran.
Well I think they do. That's like he's a prophet. I don't know. Give me something else.
And then Edward was totally opposite of Franklin in his religious beliefs because he believed that we do need a Savior. We believe we are all sinners that deserve to go to hell forever. He also believed Jesus is the Savior and that Jesus is God's Son. Franklin had many different periphanents such as scientists, inventor, philosopher, musician, and economist.
Edward's profession was a preacher of the Bible. There might have been more to this paper but I lost it. These are the two pages I could find, like it's a page in the paragraph. So yeah, this is an interesting paper.
Apparently it was my best paper I've ever written and this was well for Franklin's class. He wrote that on this which I think this is probably one of my better papers. I've actually written, yeah it actually has good fairly good points. Yeah, and actually got to the point which was fairly quick.
And yeah, he was for Mr. Franklin's class. I'm gonna clean up the paper I'm going to bring for him Mr. Franklin's class.
Farrah was a good history teacher and I was like he was a good, I guess I was a good like what did I be like, he gave it to our class and I used Wikipedia as one of my sources or paper. And I was like, I'm not the first semester that anybody who uses Wikipedia as a source would get shot. So, apparently I forgot and he came into class and for some reason I sat in the front of class and used it in the back but anyways, so he came into class and he shot me with a nerve gun which was just funny. I was like, oh okay, I thought it was.
He kept his word, he shot me, I guess, because I used Wikipedia as a source. Yeah he was, if there ever was like a good teacher he's definitely one of them. I mean, that's better than I know but there's been so many teachers. I loved him, he was definitely by far my best teacher.
So that was on Benjamin Franklin and Jonathan Edwards which I actually didn't know. It'd be so cool if I like actually like those people that have like photographic memories and they like remembered everything they've written or read. That'd be so cool. I mean, I totally forgot I wrote this and I forgot like that Benjamin Franklin, he wasn't, he wasn't really kind of like invented sort of his own doctrine but which is interesting.
And so that was another episode of Green Fingers Marcus, thank you for listening. Bye.
