Bensalem man accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old girl in South Jersey

A 27-year-old Bensalem man is facing multiple charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in South Jersey. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said police were called to a suspicious vehicle parked in the national park area of West Deptford on July 29. When officers arrived, they found the victim inside the car with Valeed Anjum. Police said Anjum and the victim met on Snapchat and that he assaulted her inside the car. Investigators said Anjum was exchanging sexually explicit videos with the victim and other minors on Snapchat, and police said this wasn’t the first sexual encounter between Anjum and the victim. He is being held at Bucks County Jail, pending extradition to New Jersey.
