Benson Returns to Georgetown | Big East Basketball News

Georgetown just pulled off a major coup by landing NJ Benson, a bruising 6-8, 235-pound big man who’s returning from a pro deal in Greece to join Coach Ed Cooley. A federal court ruling granted him an extra year of eligibility, allowing him to come back after already signing overseas. Benson, a two-year Big East veteran with career highs of 11.7 PPG and 7.6 RPG while shooting over 63% from the field, even led the nation in dunks last season. He’s no stranger to Georgetown either — he famously grabbed 16 rebounds against them last January, tying a DePaul record. With the Hoyas’ frontcourt thinning this offseason, Benson brings exactly what they need: defensive presence, rebounding dominance, and proven toughness in the toughest conference. This move turns NCAA chaos into a huge win for the Hoyas. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
