Singing the intro like always seeing the intro but seeing the intro when there's a singer in the room. I don't like it You can feel uncomfortable. You have to say you killed it. You have to say it.

You killed it. Barbara Krakett is here ladies and gentlemen a person who actually can sing Good to have you. It's good to see you. Yeah, great to see you too.

It's been a long time. Yeah And I mean you're basically more Australian than me at this point, right? Cuz you live there. Yeah, how long have you lived there?

13 years. Yeah, it's wait. So you've lived there for as long as I've never seen the country. Yeah, that's pretty crazy You gotta get back.

Oh, I told you before the show I almost did a comedy almost got me back But I think it was like a weird thing. They're like wait He's a comedian in America and he's Australian well, then yeah We'll have him in Australia and they were like wait It didn't sell out as soon as we notified people that he's coming back and I was like I don't think you guys realize yeah I'm nothing in Australia like it might be a few older guys that are like yeah I remember used to shred they don't know I had a radio show serious exam is America, Canada Yeah, not just a straight didn't get satellite radio. Yeah, so they don't know of my my accolades in the broadcasting world So it didn't really work, but I really do want to go back. But you live there.

Yeah, you live in Sydney Sydney do you live in the city or do you live in the suburbs or do you live in the bush? I live in the burbs, but it's kind of bush. We live in this on this big slant So behind us is just like bush. Hey, and you have a lot of animals.

I have five cats five cats Yes, and you're married yes, and you break at my wife's a crazy cat person. I like cat people me too I am a cat person. Yeah, me too. Have you always been a cat person?

No, no Not until we had cats and I fell deeply in love right cuz I feel like you know people say you're a dog person You're a cat person. I don't I'm an animal person. Yeah, so I don't feel like I mean I think it's weird when someone goes I don't like dogs. I only like cats or vice versa.

I'm like what what what is that? Like how can you not like dogs? Yeah? Yeah, I don't get it's like what they're different.

I'm like, yeah, you know What do you race us towards something like that's an add up to me? They got a like a mall cat racism Yeah, I'm sick of it. I'm gonna stand up for them So you're on the road you've been your band to use people obviously probably know that but you are still the band is still the band Yeah, and you are still traveling so you're home in a straight in the outback and then You go on the road for a long period of time is it still yeah long periods of time? We've been out pretty much all year We're trucking it this time.

What does that mean? We're we're celebrating 25 years So we've been doing three nights in each city playing the first three records. It's been sick and how old are you? 43 so you are you sober sort of right?

I smoke weight. Yeah, but I've been I haven't drank since 2012 Right, so you were you were pretty I don't want to well. You were pretty bad. Yeah, I was a death drinker right?

Yeah, like a Yeah in your younger arrow. Yeah, like very aggressive very aggressive I feel like you're a guy that had not the greatest childhood. Am I right? Yeah, grown up morning stuff Right gave you you broke free from that and that's what made you go kind of crazy I think that's what happens to all Mormons a little bit right they go crazy.

Hey like Belladonna the one star She was like she was morning. Yeah, she went crazy You know in a different direction than you but still crazy nonetheless, but I saw her recently I'm not gonna say where she works, but she I always knew same with you like you were crazier I was obviously a little bit crazy, but I always knew that there was goodness in you You know and it was always a thing with her where obviously porn people are gonna you know have their opinions But I always knew that that person was a good person deep down Yeah, and when I saw her I was probably like I think like six months ago, and I was like oh wow I use a real name and she was like hey how's it going and she is all cleaned up and I was like I knew you would do that I knew you would like you're not you know You got you you got you made friends with the wrong crowd Yep, and you impressed them and you had talents that impressed them and you kept going until you were in so deep You couldn't get out you know and then you got the drive or you hit rock bottom or whatever it was and you then you made a move Yeah, did you get to a point? Yeah rock bottom in the last like six months drinking. I was in jail I was in the hospital.

What'd you go to jail for just being drunk my wife called the cops on me? Oh I'm running from the cops and he grabs me and he stomps down on my foot breaks my toe. Oh wild Is this in America or straight? Yeah in Pasadena.

Okay. Yeah, and then I went to rehab shortly after that. Okay, you know and How many times you've been rehab just once just work that was enough it worked Yeah, that was all I needed and I like I feel like the way you sing cuz I Seen a recall like you were the kind of guy that you would vomit from screaming Yeah, I guess almost like a thing that was cool. That was the cool thing when I was 18 He thinks so how do you vomit and everyone would tell it talk about it?

You probably had to live up to it a little bit. Yep, it was awful Right and then I know people saying used to walk around it's funny cuz we had a similar story Someone told me I didn't know about your career It was like yeah, man I used to see him walk around the circle bar with a bottle of Cristal in some expensive sunglasses And I was like hey, I did that Yeah, I don't know if I had the expensive sunglasses on but I used to get that champagne because it was like well I knew you know like I'm not a rich guy. Yeah, but I knew from music videos that that was a rich Bottle of alcohol that's it and I was like well, they don't have one of those and walk around with it I'm like you're not getting any. Yep.

I was gonna do that Yeah, I had this tour goal to pop a bottle of Cristal and knock somebody's blood light out of their hand That was like my goal. It's so good. Like some people might find that to be offensive But you've got to see his angle where that's cool. Just some shitty gutter dude popping Chris.

Yeah, it's amazing It's like a get our fabulous thing. Yep before everybody else was doing that So did you when you were a mom when you were your parents like kind of poor? I grew up kind of middle class Yeah, not too poor but McDonald's was like a super special occasion for yeah, yeah So when what was the first like when you started to sing these there are instrument involves or when did you start to become a musician? My dad sings so I always saying when I was growing up saying in the choirs and I was I was like a Theater kid.

What kind of a singer was he opera singer? Oh wow like a train still is yeah He's saying for the mall is still is a choir. Yeah, he still sings. Yep So you have he gets better than I can Well, he's got his own.

I bet we all have our talent like I don't think he sings your songs as you do No, and I don't think you sing his songs as good as he does. No, right. I don't have that Yeah, well that seems like that takes a lot of practice, but I bet you he doesn't have I can't even do what the hell you do but you So when you started singing what was the first band you coming to? I was uh, I ran into I made friends with all these kids who were in the scar Yeah, so it was a scar punk band I played trumpet and shut no one like trumpet.

Yeah. I still in a scar band. Yeah So you had no intention of singing not at first Then even though you could already sing at the time, right? I was I was ready for it, but I was the trumpet player and when you say you were ready for it What do you say?

I was ready to sing. I was like, I'll be the singer and nobody wanted to sing So it just fell on me. Okay. Yeah, oh the band needed a guy and you were like well, I have not the bass player was singing But he was really bad at it.

Okay, so I'm like I'll take over And that was that was it like as soon as you started singing that band that was okay Because you actually probably could hold a note. Yeah from the get-go Yeah, we played lots of shows with like up and coming bands and we're popping off on the scene It was like we were called I'm with stupid. Yeah, yeah, that's something gonna go so far No, yeah, so scott punk died pretty quickly Right and then and then is the use next and then I started a band called Cobra Kai with uh, Donnie Osmond's kid Shut up. It was a hardcore band.

Yeah, we were sick Like Donnie Osmond's kid. Yeah, that's so weird. What would he like? We would rehearse at his house.

He played guitar. So when you're at that house as you see Saw Donnie all the time. Yeah, he didn't like the band because it was screaming. There's too much screaming for him.

His band sucks Is he still performing? I don't know he better not be did he might have a show in Vegas right now He might like that. He might be on a billboard. Yep Donnie somehow a lot Donnie was like still great teeth in Jesus Christ superstar.

That's amazing. Yeah, so you saw him and he didn't appreciate you He didn't like the band too much and then I got kind of I started smoking weed and it was a straight-edge band So like you're fucking out. Oh, wow. So you got booted for being a hothead.

Yep. Nice. Yeah, that's pretty rebellious Yeah, and then and then we did the years we eat was a gateway drug for me Yeah, so people try to deny that I did I that after doing all the drugs that the world has to offer. Yep, and federally starting with marijuana I would be like no, it's not While I would do every drug.

Yeah, like that's not I mean, yeah sure Maybe it was what it was for me, but I always saw alcohol was multiplayer. Yeah alcohol is a bad one because did I do marijuana? Yeah, hell yeah, like I every day non-stop but alcohol was the one where I would be like well Yeah, I'll do go. Yeah, but if I was just smoking weed and I never drank I probably would have said no no thanks Yeah, but when you drink it's over it.

It's like people were like do you want to do this? What is it? Well, let me just tell you this it's really bad for you. I'd be like hell.

Yeah. Yeah, you tried crack. Yeah. Yeah, did you of course?

Yeah, I was actually not crack with the tour manager of ours. That's a good that's a good manager. Yeah, you're in a safe place It's different kind of I had skateboard managers where they were like no no you should not smoke crack. They'd be like well, I'll wait till you look away It wasn't gonna stop me.

Yeah, I think I smoked something because my nose didn't work for me. Don't cook. Yeah, this is gonna get flexed. Who cares So that band you booted because you're a pothead got booted and then I got really into drugs.

I got heavy into crystal methamphetamines and it was like how well would you then? 16 17 that is a terrible decision. Dude. I'm so angry.

Like I hated yourself. Yeah, that's the moment. That's the moment lifestyle Explain so sheltered and so conservative that you just want to lash out. You know what I mean?

Yeah Yeah, I feel like that was kind of me after my second wife. Yeah, I like wanted to lash out like I like I was being I've living a very conservative life by force and when I got out I was like Whatever is wrong. That's what I want. Yeah, like if it's bad and people are like that's Crazy, I was like well then I won't turn that up to 11.

Yeah more of that. Yeah, same way for sure glad I got to experience it Because I'm on the other side of it. Yeah, a lot of people never get out. Yeah, so that's the the downside of yeah I have everyone I everyone I hung with back then is dead see what I mean.

Yeah, like you and I are Very lucky, you know, to be able to hold a conversation after being in the depths of really Like you know maximum stupidity maximum stupidity because everybody I knew it was just Well, I don't see with a big like so water for you smart crack. You know, give me some like what do you mean? You're only gonna smoke a little bit. You know, I was only that was the only people I knew so there was never anybody It was only after with it.

I would have little because I don't know if you did this but I would have little periods where I kind of got my stuff together Enough to hear somebody from that had hung out with older me say something about how crazy I was and I'd go really I don't even remember that they're like yeah, dude like you did cook where it was just like who does that and I was like I don't remember you saying that yeah, and I like do I would say did you just do that line and I'd be like what are you talking about? Like that's not that's not that's what everybody does all night. I'm like, oh, yeah And then I would remember like certain people saying those things and then Because the the addiction is like you get in a little bit and then you go in deeper and deeper until you're back to where you were Or sometimes even once yeah worse. Yeah, I got way in it was bad.

I went to jail when you were 16 I went right when I turned 18. I got busted with with crystal and went to jail. So you were doing it for years Yeah, were you in a band then no so there's a period where you got booted from the weed and now you're just unmath me and I'm right off Just fucked. Where do you live at this?

I lived in this like storage unit slash auto shop. Oh dude. Yeah, it was you have a job? No, oh, no, just look at that wait.

No parents either No parents. I didn't talk to my parents a couple years when when I went to jail I finally called my dad to come bail me out And did you would this is when you're 18? Yeah, and then did you try to stay with him a little bit or what was they came? They came and got me he took me back to his house and I lived with them for like two weeks before I found the used and then that was it Wow, yeah, and when you say you found the use you mean you found the whole band or they were looking for a singer they Found my parents number and called the house and I was like what the fuck would you have a phone call?

Yeah, like from who? Yeah, people you don't know that are a band that needed sing up. Yeah, so that's like they came Pick me up. I moved into the band came and picked you up.

Yeah, and you lived with the like you left left my parents house moving in with a guitar player Um, and it was crazy. They were all completely sober. They'd never done drugs before so I was like what and they are they had the same age as you Yeah, so hanging out with a bunch of people who never did drugs and you didn't go to rehab. You just came out I just came out was you too methicant?

No I was going to NA meetings. They were dropping me off. Yeah, and kind of really sorted the meth out Wow, like the band cut you off meth. Yep It saved you saved me Like skateboarding save me like so it's the you save you so that's like well that makes a lot of sense How 25 years later you're still in the band.

Yeah, that's your lifelong. No, like that's your thing So how long are you in the use before that looks successful? We played like three local shows and then we got a call from John Feldman like shut up three local shows and John Feldman I know John yep, and then he called us from Sweden. He's like I heard your demo.

I'm flying you out to LA to record I'm gonna find you guys a manager. I'm gonna get you signed on a label. We're like what the fuck Yeah, yep Wait, so you get out of jail. You're at your pairs for two weeks Then you're living with the guitarist.

It's a band called the use before you get there It was called Strange itch and then it was called dumb luck and then it was called just used Okay, we had to like pay someone for the name though used because somebody already had it Yeah, and this is like when John is in charge kind of thing Yeah, we need to get it sharpened. Yep, cuz he knows how to make Legends he does he doesn't he. Oh, she's a legend maker. He's a guy.

He's a machine So you uh you get the deal you get a manager You know you guys are freaking out as they're people that are looking to take advantage of you because you're so green because I know the game I know the world and they're like all these kids are you know, they're gonna be big But they don't know anything. Yep. I'm sure is I'm looking out for you a little bit totally He's like in the band at this point. I got needs more credit.

I know he's like I don't think people You know realize like yeah, great. You gotta hit some you know Tony Holk sings song video game blah blah blah blah Like more importantly, you know cuz that's like Tony like Tony's one of the greatest skateboarders that I've lived in my opinion They're greatest but like what he does for skateboarding and skateboarders No offense to his amazing skateboarding even though I just said he's a skipper they've ever lived his His giving back to skateboarders at skateboarding is way bigger than then Tony Hawk itself. Yeah, because it's just There's so many I was at his 50th birthday drunk and uh The amount of people that came on stage that said the same thing because I wanted to go on stage and say how much he's done for me And by the fifth legend in skateboarding saying how much he'd done for them and gone out of his way to help him I was like well, there's a real point. Yeah, you know like if Rodney Mullen's gonna say how great he is just chase it out Drunk need to really go up there and say it.

I'm like I think it's covered But he's done that much. It's funny to know that John has done that much too. So this is this is interesting We're like like it's like I know you know I didn't care for your band. I didn't hate him But I was like I was I was in like three bands.

Yeah, and I and and if you talked about another band I hated you and I'm very close minded. I have no argument. I'm an idiot. Yeah, you know I brought my horizons at like 48.

I think I was like fucking you everyone's an idiot AC DC shut up That's like to you might want to check out. I'm like no. No, I only like dead people I was like Bob Dylan's cool and I'm like how do you like Bob Dylan? But you want to let him like look fuck off Yeah, that's my argument.

I don't need to make sense So you get this deal he moved LA Um, I didn't move anywhere. We're just on the road for like two straight years. So we just didn't have a house. Wait, you stayed At the guitar's house.

Yeah, but when we started touring we just kind of lived in a hotel. Oh, okay Yeah, we get money straight off the bat. Yeah, money like record labels still signed bands Still like signing bonus and like okay, we're just when you get a signing bonus. You don't have to pay that back or anything That's like your money everything gets paid back labels are fucked Right.

So like you got here's a bunch of money What and in the back end is you don't get any money because they already gave you the No, it and they don't really tell you that but also you probably didn't read they didn't tell and we didn't ask right We sold our merch very first. So we didn't end up getting any merch money for like 14 years With the number that I thought was gonna come out of your mouth was not that long Yeah, I thought you're gonna say like four years and I was still gonna go that's fucked up, but yeah 14 No money from merch for 14 years insane those guys. They say prey on that we signed a big merch deal So it was like really cool at the beginning and then you got some up front. Yeah tons up front Okay, so we're like, yeah, let's do it.

Yeah, not even thinking like we're gonna be touring for the next 25 years So wait, so like over so 14 years later then when you sold a t-shirt, you got money from it. Yep If you guys ever broken up we kicked out our first guitar player. We kicked out our first drummer Who's the first guitar player that you live with? Yeah, how's he about that?

He went crazy. He wrote this tell-all book about me talking shit. Oh, wow, that's cool What is that he came out on Instagram and was like, um You know who I'm talking about he abused me in every way possible mentally physically and in other ways too So people were like, what are you talking about? Wait, you've been listening to me for a great video Wow in other ways in other ways.

So yeah, that only means one thing and he knows that he knows it Yeah, he'll that's where I have a similar You know when the band is like the radio show when it broke up there were two people that just went on a rampage about how I'm the worst person ever I might wait what yeah, I mean that's not true And obviously I know from experience when that book came out a huge chunk of people believed it Yeah, and came at you. Yeah, right for sure He he was pretty grandiose about the whole thing saying how he wrote everything and how he came up with all the ideas and So I think people were a little bit like this guy's got a bit of a savior complex. Okay. Yes.

Yes again relating But most of the stuff he wrote about me is true like I put a cigarette out on him I bought a beer on his head. I put cottage cheese in his bonk like well, that's all I mean the cigarette one was a little harsh But the other ones I was like I'm listening. Yeah, that's rock and roll. Maybe exactly kind of cheese like come on Good joke might have been there.

I guess if you're tired and you get cottage cheese. It's a little frustrating Yeah, you got to know what to expect on the road, right? And you're a wild guy 18 years old I'm assuming he was a wild guy too. He was wild, but he pretends he wasn't right at the keys Like I never drank what like they drank and I never did drugs like they did drugs, which is not true not true Right.

Yeah, I think that's uh, I mean when you throw out a thing about how bad somebody is and you never mentioned like you just said like I did this and I did that because that you and I have similarities where like I'm not I'm terrible Like I'm sorry. Yeah, you know like it's like I've had to make a lot of apologies You know, I'm hard to deal with and I'll be the first to admit that's the craziest thing people are you did this and you're that I'm like Well, I did do this and I did do that, but I definitely didn't do that and people like bullshit. I'm like, okay, why would I Why would I if I'm gonna throw myself under the bus on this one? Why would I duck that one?

That one's not even as bad as that one Like what does that make any sense? You know like something you got that guy fired at my I can't I could I don't own serious Like I could not get anyone fired. I'll tell you I'm happy you got fired. Yeah, does that count?

Yeah, but I don't have the power. Yeah, you know, it's just you don't I couldn't get I couldn't I don't think at any point I could have got an intern fired. Yeah, like they ran me You know, is there a time that I wanted somebody to leave? Absolutely.

Yeah, and I would have told you yep But it's not like you have the the power so there's the drummer write a book about how terrible you are No, we're actually still in like kind of on good terms. Okay, but the guitarist guy you are not friends with no, right? Yeah, is he still barking or is he let it go? He's kind of let it go as far as as far as I can tell I think the book was kind of like it out of it I mean he sued the fuck out of us as well.

Yeah, yeah, yeah Well, actually by guys tried to but they were like dude It's not gonna say it could all yeah, so it never happened But I did hear that one of them wanted to and I was like that's So crazy. I'm saying the one that wanted to was the one that I really bent over backwards for right where I did stuff where yeah It's like a brother. Yeah, like I really did a lot where I was like, I don't have to do any of this Yeah, and I did it and then at the end Turns I was like he did not and my boss was like he was saying I'm like What you know, I did what about when I it's like sledica or two. Yeah, there's nothing you can do about nothing So yeah, that's wild You've gone so now you got the how long has everybody been in the band now the jump was the last guy that's which out We had another shitty guitar player again who also sued us.

Oh today was also like he write a book or savior of the band like wrote Everything came up. I mean just real quick to we're here. You've got a book right a new book Yeah, and you can get it right now. Yeah, you can pre-order it ships like in on December 10th or so Where can you pre-order it on our website or on our Instagram or whatever?

Okay, so but your book is of you writing your lyrics and stuff in in it. Yeah, it's the actual notebook They just pretty much copied it straight over But it's your notebook. Yeah that you wrote that I wrote and these are lyrics and stuff that is in your band all the lyrics So how did the guitarist make the whole band when you have a book that you can get right now ladies and gentlemen that shows that put made did it Like that really screws with that guy's theory Like and you'll see if you read it. You'll see that that's it's in the band.

It's in the song. Yep, they're all in there They're all in there. That's a real fucking to that guy That's a good one man. I should have jumped it up.

You know, I'll say why this is a big deal for you know mayhem, right? The fighter. Yeah, we were friends. He lost it You know, he did a bunch of stuff that he got to every type of drugs went to prison for a long time Yeah, and he got out and he's uh There was something about he did this fight, fight circus and they do fights where I'm like hey, those are my fights And I guess somebody said yeah, mayhem was a bit weird thought you were gonna be dark on him because he Was part of that and I was like oh, I didn't even know he was a part of that I just like people got the idea They saw my fights and ripped it off and I'm like, oh really care.

Yeah, you know each to their own Like have fun with it. Yep, and then I find out that mayhem was like no I had a I was the person that told him about the fights and then I went to prison and they did it without me Okay, and I was like wait you gave them the fights and he's like well Yeah, man, we came up to it came up with it together and I'm like wait No, we didn't I mean it's not a big deal, but yeah, I'm like name one of the fights you came up with He's like I don't remember I was high and in prison. I was like ask me What fights I came up with and I'll tell you all of them all of them every one of them I didn't write them down. I actually probably did write down some of them I should give a book but nobody's gonna care about one one but that but those things are like you gotta Yeah, man Jason else here Jason L show 2.0.

You can't all be me right, which is a weapon slightly joking But look somebody showed me this a long time ago, right burn it's spelled b y r in a go to their website You can use my code if it's burner calm slash Alice and they have these launchers It's legal in all 50 states if you're looking for security where you don't have to You know potentially really take somebody's life like it But it's still like you're protected There's all different ones to choose from you know There's ones that shoot stuff that where it pops and it's like a gassy kind of thing that'll like burn your eyes and it'll stop somebody From attacking you it'll get them away from you so that you can get the safety and you won't kill them and you can brandish it And it's not illegal. I'm in California where you cannot have a real firearm out on the street burner You can't it's legal you can have it. You can protect your family you can protect yourself You'd be crazy not to check these things out. I highly recommend it man before I even knew anybody that worked there Somebody sent it to me and I was like man If I was Santa was real and I was Santa I would give one of these to every girl I know I'd be like just having your purse if anybody says anything be like hey leave me alone Just you showing it should be enough But if they are dumb enough to come towards you this thing will protect you so try it out burn it dot com slash Alice I was like look just just have fun.

Yeah, just do it. Just do it. It doesn't it doesn't this the thing I've learned like getting people back. I don't know if you ever used because you got an anger in you and I used it as a power Yeah, you know like oh yeah, you know like I was one of those guys where you crossed me I'm like I'll show you yeah like maybe not like actually come for you and kill you but like do stuff where you see me and go Oh man, you see me's killing me.

You know I mean like I'll get you back by being more successful So it was like a tool that I used to like give me energy You know like I could keep going no matter what because I was like you you laugh at my failure and when I rise and become king That's gonna burn you. Yeah, and that and that fuels my fire. That's exactly it. You have that similarity But then there comes a time where Because it's all I know it's such a handy tool that it's the only way I operate I only operate on I showed you you lose again.

Yeah, and like the biggest one that don't I mean it's not that long ago I did a backside 540 at a demo and I hadn't done a 540 for over a decade. I mean my 50s I don't skate that much. You know just like the day it worked. I was like I think I could make it.

I'm terrified You know, I'm like it's not worth it. You're gonna you get knocked out again. Did you hit me times? Anyway, I make it as soon as I land I'm not even across the flat and both my fingers come up And I'm like who's that for?

You know me like when you make it like what up just be happy Yeah, but the first instinctual thing is fuck you and I'm like who's that directed at everyone? It is but it's also this thing where I'm like you've used this tool to like fuel yourself and conquer your fears and keep pushing No matter how bleak things look, but it's not You don't need it anymore. Like you've won. Yeah, like you can still have drive and and not give up And it's not about revenge and you don't have to get anybody back You can just be like I'm happy for everybody because that's the thing that I think if you have these similarities then you're gonna agree with this When I've got everything I'm still not happy Like when I had all the money and everybody loved me I go back to the room and I'm like if I'm not high or sleeping with somebody or doing something Yeah, I'm dark.

Yeah, and people would say it and I it didn't really I was like, oh, yeah I'm kind of bigger. I got tattoos. Like I'm sure you think I look like I'm angry But I'm not angry. Yeah, and I look back and I'm like, yeah, yeah, you are like you're dark All the time and I used to think that was cool.

Yeah, like yeah, I'm dark and mysterious. You know like you douche What are you doing? What do you think you Darth Vader or something? But then getting sober and like like being happy with nothing.

Yeah, it it changed everything the way I look at my life Like I'd now like if somebody crosses me, I'm like, oh you got your reasons Yeah, you know like I don't know your childhood. Yeah, and as a person that has attacked people for crossing me for childish reasons I forgive you. Yeah, you know like I'm sure you've got your Your reasons like I don't know what your childhood. I don't know what who go broke up with you I don't know your job or whatever somebody that ruined you or maybe you dare got cancer And you what you know like everyone's life is terrible sometimes Yeah, and you're you've held something in and now it's it's slashing out at me Yeah, and I forgive you for whatever it is and then when I wake up, I'm like oh I'm never giving this up.

Yeah, like I'm real happy. Why I'm a lot. Yeah, I mean I go have a coffee Yeah, I'm like wait. Are you happy about having a coffee?

Yeah, fuck is wrong with you like I need to be happy if I can give me a large sum of money or Everybody show Jason your boobs, you know, right? That's the reason I'd be happy. Yeah, like now It's not now. I'm like don't don't show me your boobs.

That's inappropriate. That's one of my new words. Yeah. Yeah when girls flash their tits out Our shows I'm like you have a mother Thank you.

Yeah So it's a thing that has happened to you as well. Yeah, that's so crazy I did I did a naked roselet this weekend No, nice, and I didn't I used to do it every year and they were like yeah, you're in the naked rose and I was like oh I even emailed I was like I would have preferred being asked I'm like I'll do it, but like you're just saying that I mean it without asking me is weird, but okay I go up and I walk out naked and I'm doing good down there And this is also a weird thing a lot of guys compliment you on that. Am I you know how gay that is? Only dudes are like man nice.

Oh, do you know how weird that is that you are realizing that like just move on with your date But when I'm up there these people are other naked people roasting each other and the red and the judges are naked and I get up there And I sit down at the desk and I realize that I don't want to be naked Anymore even if it's gonna help my career I don't want to do it. Yeah, and I don't want to see you naked And it's I'm already on stage and it's it's an hour show It's 2000 people in this room too Yeah, and I'm like and they come up the next roasters and I'm I can't look at them But I know that 2000 people someone's gonna catch that I'm not looking So every now and then when they come up I'd go like that and then keep looking at the crowd And then at one point some really large lady It's like come on Jason look at her thing and I was like I'd rather not And then she comes over to the panel and I'm not looking I will not look as she like lifted her stomach up to show it I guess but I'm like over here and they're like come on man and I'm like no I don't want to and they're like you're the guy that had an only fan and I'm like oh I'm gonna punch you in the face like I did I did a lot of stuff that I'm not proud of Yeah, you know, but that's like my addiction and like I got to the point where like going back to the crack If you smoke enough like you can do a coke it's fun You're social then you smoke crack because you've done coke and then you smoke banana crack And then you start flicking the carpet with a piece of paper behind it to see if any crack falls out onto the piece of paper You know you will smoke anything you smoke a dust might with sex People can't realize it because they like to view gay you're gay. I'm like, I'm not gay. I'm not offended I've got no problem with gays.

Yeah, I am I would at one point sleep with Anything anyone at one point if it was creepy. It was the number one option. Yeah, like if you're a pretty girl I've already done that if you're like a weird lady with a beard. I'm like whoa, okay, and I'm not I'm not really proud about I'm not saying wrong about ladies with beers.

Yeah, I'm just not into that but when you bring it up like it's today Again, I heard it. It made me angry. It made me sad and then I went to myself He doesn't know. Yeah, you know, he's he's incredibly intoxicated right now He doesn't know what that means to me and I forgive him and I was okay with it But I did say they were like so you're in the naked roast tomorrow night.

I'm actually not right now like why not? I was like it's just uncomfortable for me I didn't realize that you know, there's a lot of things that changed in my life And I'm just not comfortable being naked. I've been around naked people and I get how you can be like what are we talking about? But it's just I'm just being honest and I've got a good I've got a have a boundary here and I'm gonna uphold it and and it was no harm No foul old me like they don't want to let you guys down, right?

You know, like if I say I don't want to do it, you're gonna be like, oh, come on, bro Yeah, and then I'm gonna feel bad. I don't feel bad. That's good. I'm like, I'm just gonna take care of myself.

Where do they do that? A skank fest. Okay, it's really fun. That's cool.

It's really there That's like Lewis J Gomez and Big J Augustin and all these other comics such a big comic festival Yeah, and then they do like skank fights used to be Alice mania, but I don't know they've moved they've named it something else and they don't have all my fights But they want to be a part of that and they always wanted me to be in the naked roast because I've got a larger penis And it's like hey like that and also like the thing that I realized is like I think you're okay Yeah, because it's like you know, it's wrong Bro, like because I have a one point I'm sitting there with my hand over it And the guy they're all in a line going to staple something to this big fat guy and then he's like what you covered it, bro That thing's and I was like, you know, okay, that is dude that you can that you're first of all you're trying to look at it And second it's like what did you let that bed buy loose and I'm like and do what with it? Leave it alone Oh, that's great straight people Lying about this straightness as far as I'm concerned. Another wrong with it. Do whatever you want.

Yeah, um life. Yeah, so Define now that you're a sober guy. I mean, I feel like you would have had fights in your band, right? Yeah, it sounds like obviously the guitar guy in the job at one point, but now it seems a good player threw down a few times a few times We're in um, Osaka at the rock rock.

Yeah, and he ripped all my clothes off me on stage. No at the bar Oh, I'm trying to pieces ran down put my clothes in this um, bicycle guy was riding by and he put my clothes in the dudes front basket Yeah, you just kept riding Wait, how many of your clothes did he get off all of them? He ripped your underwear off and you're just standing in the bottom naked just naked sitting outside And so that's not really a fight. No, well, it was it was but it wasn't did you fight him before he stripped you?

Yeah, we were we were on one when you say on one Japan's easy to get Real loose. They love you to drink down there. Okay. Yeah, they love to get you wasted.

Yeah, you know, and then it came to how is it with nudity in Japan? I don't think it's very Yeah, I was I think it's kind of frowned upon. That's that's what I was thinking I got my clothes back really shortly after they were ripped off though Were there anybody that was starting to get uncomfortable with your nudity at the bar? I can't remember to shake.

That all kind of adds up. Yeah, but you also had like actual punch-ons with him Yeah, there was a few times where we we had it out. It's all in his book Did you read it? No, I didn't read it.

I was gonna say I was that way I got it. Oh, you just heard I heard I read comments Okay, yeah, which is probably enough read through the reddit and that was fine. Oh the reddit is I've never I've been on there one time. Oh, it's wild west on there That's why I'm not on it.

I love it There's there was a time when the show was really big on serious and I read one thing And it was like the worst thing about the Jason L show after like I read like several comments The only thing that's bad about the Jason L show is Jason Alice And I was like wait, how does that work? I mean like the show would be better if I left. Yeah, but I but I made it I was mine. I'm so confused like I'm the main guy Yeah, reddit gets nasty.

Yeah, it's funny a bunch of 12 year olds though, right? All right, I get some people have told me that that's not the right category There's other people that say there's like sports reddit and stuff where people are constructive, right? But yeah, I just I just think it's uh You know the more work I do on myself the more I understand the way humans work and the internet is just like a it's a feeding frenzy People are jumping on top and trying to one up each other and you know, it's like singing people You don't get better and skateboard people get better fighting people running they break records every year There's somebody gets a little quicker and it's like you're an asshole on social media and they get better at that too Yep, and it's like uh, you know, you get darker people Associated with people less and stay on the internet more and get more twisted and and don't work on themselves And are always running and say as much negative stuff as they possibly can to get attention So it doesn't really mean anything to me anymore. Yeah, I'm not on there at all.

I don't do it I've got a I've got a instagram page to sell stuff. Yeah, but I don't ever go on there. So who does it the management? Dude, you're uh Yeah, you're advanced.

I can't do that. It sucks my soul away. See, I'm in comedy now That's the only bad part. Yeah, it's comedy.

I do have a a large Following on social media because of my radio and skateboard career. Yep, and people in comedy would be like dude I would kill to have your social media because I can say I'm gonna be at this in the city This night selling tickets and you will sell tickets. Yep, like it's so hard to make it in comedy It's like it's crazy. That's that's the way it is for a lot of occupations artists They have a hard time selling their stuff nowadays because it's all it's all instagram.

It's all social media It's really it's a weird thing that is like some people that are like if you're a pretty girl And you're selling something that isn't just you being pretty you're gonna do way better You know if you're older or you're not that hot, well, you better be good at whatever it is you do You know, and it's like then there's like this luck thing where it's almost like uh Like pop music where it's just everybody likes you and it's like are you the best? No, but everybody likes you. Yep And then you know, it's like this is people that are trained and doing this their whole lives and they're like why not me and it's like Because it's just not no that's it. There's no reason.

No reason to suck about this basically. Yeah, all there is for that But it is but I will tell you that you know, there was a time there where especially when I was using where that did affect my day Now it is it is you know, it's part of the job and I really just don't you can't get to me Yeah, you know, you could say whatever you could think of okay, you know, like I've already I've already I've been on only fans With dudes You know me like you can be like hey, you're and I'm like well, yeah, yeah, kind of It's gonna out it's already out there. Yeah, I've already had to face it I've seen the video and created what I've seen it and so if you bring it up again, I'm like well, yeah Yeah, it is on the internet, you know, like I try to get it taken down, but it's still up there somewhere I'm sure everything lives forever on there. So it doesn't really it doesn't when you accept it That's a good thing about when you so for a long time and you sit with it.

I don't run from anything Yeah, I sit with it like what is the worst thing you can think of it's like sober, ayahuasca. That's how I explain it like when I Have you ever done that? No, dude when I did ayahuasca, this is gonna get dark But I don't care ayahuasca the medicine shows me as a child being molested yeah Like a fly on the wall camera, right? Stuff that like I don't even really think happened but like the worst thing you can think of Over and over again and at one point I'm like I try to get out of the trip where I'm like make it stop Yeah, and it's like it doesn't say words.

It just goes back into Showing you and to me the medicine was showing me because it was like you need to face it You need to accept that it happened so that you can move on Yeah, and you haven't faced it your whole life you've been running from this right? You're like, no, that's not what happened. You know, it really didn't happen. Not like that Yeah, you know, and it's like I'll be all right.

Yeah, it's like no, dude. You're not all right You need to face that the unthinkable happened Really know it and then move on and the medicine tried to show me and at one point when I got off it after three days of it I was like wow I do feel lighter I feel like I kind of faced some of my demons and then I immediately drank like the next day and it looked weird and started running again And then it slowly built back up and I slowly forgot that that really happened And then when I really got sober because that's the other thing I never would have thought that sex had anything to do with it But for me and this is not everybody this is just me it that is how I run I stay sleeping with people and I never have to really face my demons Right when I got sober and celibate and was like I go home and I just sit there by myself So when I got divorced I was like I got nobody to talk to yeah And it was the best thing ever for me because it was so dark and I just kept Like this compulsive brain. It's like he did it. It happened.

It happened. I'm like, oh my god dude I don't want to be here anymore. Yeah, I got that dark Yeah, but I stayed and it got slowly not overnight You know, it took a long time where I was pretty depressed man for a long time. Yeah, and Thank god.

I got a couple friends. I was like, yeah, I'll still listen to your bullshit, you know I'll be here for you miserable bastard And then it got to the point where I got used to it and I accepted it and then I moved on with my life You know, it's like everyone wants this quick fix you take a pill and then you're okay You know, it's like you're gonna main therapy. I'm like maybe yeah, but not for me I gotta have no interest in doing any of that when something bad happens I will sit there and I will analyze it for everything it is all the angles. Yeah worst case whatever best case doesn't matter And then accept it and be a fucking man and then move on Yeah, and it's just the the release like the like who I am I've never like you don't know me, but like what I am now.

Yeah, I did not know that guy My opinion on things what I think of people what I think of myself is the biggest one right where I'm like you can fucking count on me Yeah in every aspect. Yeah, it was the time there. I'll be like look, you know, don't leave your kid in my house That's not a good idea. I don't know what'll happen now.

I'm like, yeah, man. Like whatever you want. I can I can be there for you That's great and it's like the the pain of facing the pain has Has given me such joy. Oh, it's awesome.

You know, yeah, it's just you gotta stay you gotta stay in the dark You gotta live it appreciate a lot kind of you know, totally Um, so what else do you do but I read a lot? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah kind of boring. I don't know Yeah, I used to I would have said that earlier in my days, but no I when you're not good at reading then yet boring because you can't really get the information the way it's trying to be delivered Yeah, because you're trying to figure out the word and by the time you forget the word you're like, I don't know the fuck I started Reading yeah, so you do a lot of reading what kind of stuff. I like post-modern fiction I like stories with like no beginning and no end.

Wow. You ever thought of writing one? Yeah, but not yet I mean it's it's it's percolating What about a movie? Um Never thought about it really So you come sick though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah be super sick I'm being told now that short movies Small budgets are gonna start taking over. Oh, that's the world is sick of the comic book bullshit Yep, so there's chances for like the creatives That's to like make short films or films that are just like raw and not millions of dollars of bullshit like actual films that are Yeah, interesting and you can actually have like a fort after it. Yep. So they're just like duh I don't know we blow up.

You know she won whatever. Yep. Yeah, that's great. What about music writing all the time all the time?

Yeah, we're on the road. We constantly jam in we're the type of band that plays all day We we love to play we have a little practice set up and we just hang in there. Do you'll live in Australia? No, the other guys live we're all spread out.

So when do you made up? We usually do the road all the time Yeah, we usually like to do rehearsals in LA or Nashville. Okay, so I just blind a lot. That's just what I signed up for Yeah, you accepted that.

Yep. Yeah, I can tell yep those flights are brutal, but How often do you what's a day in the air? How often do you fly back and forth probably like six or seven times a year? Not bad.

No, I think I'm gonna say more. No, we tried it like I got here about two and a half months ago Okay, so I'll go home December 15th. Okay, it'd be like three months stints two months stints But you're like healthier. So it's like doesn't you don't have those wake up trashed never and still have to keep going thing never Which is like that's really the battle.

It's beautiful, you know when you're like, oh, I can't you mean I might die and they're like you got to go and I'm like go Like I'm looking to die for two days. Then I'll go. Yep. Yeah, it's gonna be better.

It's so good. Yeah, we really get to like Embrace the 25 years and feel really lucky and blessed and it sounds like you guys are in the best spot ever ever Yeah, we're all super tight. It's never been better. Wow.

Yeah, you made it. We made it to the other side only took 25 years That's kind of how it did. That's quick really Like and you're all there. That's amazing.

Yeah, do you have a new album or anything like that? Yeah, we're gonna record next year And you have another journal ready to go. I will. Yeah, or just one of your guitars gonna write everything Let's see what's oh man.

That didn't work. No, not twice Dude, I think after somebody sues you you have a hard time being their friend again. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, no, I've let it go But it's like some people that listen to show like when you bring him back and I'm like no, you know, like I don't know ill will Yeah, I'm just like if I saw him tomorrow, I'd be like, hey, man. I hope you're good. Yeah, but I don't We should hang out again. I'm like, oh, we shouldn't know.

Yeah, we should definitely not. Yeah, that's all Yeah, I really do hope the best for all of that's great So what else what else you don't not a lot just finished up the 25-year anniversary tour We're gonna do two weeks in Canada now with pop a roach, right? And um freeze our ass off. Yeah, so cold up there I know I'm going there soon and people keep telling me about this minus 40 thing and I'm like shut up I got all sort of real thing.

I got heated pants heated jap. You get heated pants? Yes It's got a little battery pack and you just oh, could you outside? Yeah, there's no anything to your voice I'm gonna say I'm really stupid, but does it does it no just really cold doesn't matter?

No, all right You really can't get heated pants. Yep. Do you you a guy that gets cold easy? I hate being cold, right?

I hate it. Yeah, my chick gets cold super easy. I'm always and I'm hot all the time So that's like the most annoying combination. Yes, we have a it's freezing and I'm like I'm hot We have a hot guy on tour.

Uh what a hot guy. What is that? Oh hot? I was like they're just incredibly attractive.

Yeah, we have a super bottle on tour I don't know why do you guys need that bit? Maybe that's what's keeping you all together. I don't know one guy that's always hot And it makes the whole thing. Yeah, yeah, cuz he's like turn on the air.

Yeah, yeah, I did my girlfriend Yeah, I'm yep. I ruin her and I'm shivering and I turn up to 90. I'm shivorous. So I just sweat there you go I just go.

It's okay. She's like oh, call them. I go ahead. You turn the heater on because I'm already hot, but hell yeah Let's lose a couple pounds.

I love you, baby I'm gonna do some push-ups. Yeah, get a good workout in Uh, so where's it where you go next up to Vancouver to start? Okay, and then straight across gets colder as you go, right? Yeah, and we're it's all hockey arenas.

So it's gonna be cold and then it's cold Kickin how many people inside in front of like anywhere between like four to eight thousand Dude, yeah 40s. It's loving it got a bug. Yeah, thousand people you chick cats. Yeah in the outback.
