Beside
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Beside I’ve been sitting alone Stared at my phone Picturing you The lonely days The darkness stays No sun the whole day through Craziness replaces all the logic I once used Dreaming of better days to stay amused Eventually I come to grips, the feelings I can’t hide I know I will never be right, not until I am again beside Cried just trying to remember The sweet kiss from late December Still feels fresh upon my lips Close my tear stained eyes Inside no one hears the cries Oh! To feel your pretty fingertips Come home babe, feel alive and awake How much more can either one of us take? It has worn us down, our nerves rattled and fried Honey, I know we will never be right, not until we are beside Beside each other, feeling each other’s breathes A love to be shared long beyond our deaths Connected so strong, an inexplicable feeling inside That never seems to be right, until I’m finally beside You Tim Windisch 01/14/2022
