(2:00) Vinnie asks Colin to give some backstory on how he got into athletics and what led him to try all the things he does. (3:00) Colin's dad always reminded him to be active outside, because "Nature is Free." They chat about coming from a modest upbringing then going to a large university. (5:00) Colin suffered an accident that affected his life and outlook. (8:15) He shares how his mom inspired him and what his goal became. They discuss mindset and lifestyle and what they each decided was important to them. (16:55) Hint: It wasn't money, luxury items, or keeping up with the "Joneses". Vinnie was inspired to take on the 12-hour walk after he heard Colin on the Adam Carolla podcasts. (30:30) Colin explains his trek across Antarctica and how the idea of the 12-Hour Walk got started. (32:50) He shares thoughts that were his takeaway from this experience. Colin chats about a few of his other adventures. (40:20) Covid hit, and it affected Colin in a way that surprised him.
