BEST OF Season Two! Ephesians 5:15-6:9

We must first find the limits of the well-built passage in Ephesians 5-6. Then we can notice the main parts of this long passage. And only thirdly can we look at words, phrases and verses in their appropriate places in the development of thought in the whole passage.The Book of Ephesians in chapters 4-6 is written in six major Sections. each one starting with "therefore walk." In Ephesians 5-6 the start is in verse 15 which begins with "Therefore walk ...." The next Section begins in 6:10 with the words "Therefore stand...."There is a jump, jump, high jump structure in Section 5. There are four points made in 5:15-18, and four more made in 5:19a-21. These are the first two "jump" portions. The "high jump" portion runs from 5:19-6:9 and the center or high point is located in 5:32. This is the defining idea of the entire passage.
