from Shortlights: an Anthology of the Best of Shortcast Club · host Shortcast Club

EPISODE 3. Welcome to our third episode of “Best of Shortcast Club”. Each week we highlight some of our favorite podcast episodes posted on Shortcast Club. Find these and more on our Shortcast Club app, available on iOS and Android app stores. We have 10 great episodes selected for you today! First up, a 47 second episode by Tyson Mutrux, a well-known injury attorney in Missouri, with an insight on the tough reality of Jury trials. Next, a perennial favorite, an episode of “Don’t Just Win. Dominate” by Bill Harper, a marketing guru, with an analysis of the famous caveman commercials by Geico. This episode has really stuck in my head and has me thinking about how to better promote Shortcast Club. Third, a 4 minute episode from Eden Gold's podcast, "Life After High School, Your Ultimate Guide to Thriving in Adulthood!" Today she breaks down exactly *how* she schedules for optimal productivity, getting into the nuts and bolts of how to use your calendar. Fourth, an episode of “TriviumU: Timeless Training for Professional Communicators by Dr. Ben Crosby,” In this quick 1 minute episode, Dr. Crosby explains how and why to use structure when speaking. We used to call this "sign posting" in debate. Fifth, a thoughtful 1 minute episode by Brad Chandler about how our present thoughts creates our reality. Sixth, an episode of “therapy beyond the couch” by Tami Amit in which she shares about the "in between" stage when going through a transition. I love her analogy of how you might feel like a lobster that has shed it's shell. Next, an episode from Tora Mills about how to stand out in a competitive job market. Even if you're not actively looking for a job, this is good advice for anything you're pitching! Eighth, an episode of "Mind, Brain, Body Lab Shortcasts". I love this short audio skit, by Cody Isabel about how to do favors for your future self as a way of getting stuff done. I'm going to start doing this myself! Ninth, an episode of yamsox's shortcast by Lyam Boylan about how mindfulness can be awkward. I've often felt that so hearing someone crystalize and explain this is helpful. Finally, let's end with an episode of "Tom Voiceover Quick VO Tips" by Tom Jordan. Tom is a professional voice actor, and in this episode he shares the three types of coaches you should seek out if you are launching a career as a voice actor. I hope you enjoyed this taste of just some of my favorites from this week. There are many many more great shows available on Shortcast Club. Download the app from the iOS or Android app store - search for “Shortcast Club”, that’s two words. Thanks, and happy listening.
