Best Sermon Ever: The Sermon on the Mount, pt 6

from Oklahoma City First Church Sermons & Devotionals · host First Church OKC

My prayer life has been disrupted during these stay-at-home times.  My morning and evening commutes were previously my times of prayers.  Likewise, my schedule has been completely turned upside down.  And I have more excuses than that for not praying as I should, but I'll stop there.  And that's how many of us think about praying.  It's something we "should" do.  But Jesus taught something different.  Prayer is something we "get" to do.  We have a heavenly Father who is ready to give us those good things we need, to help us find what we are looking for, to open up doors for us.  It's not that we "should" pray, it's that we "get to" pray. I hope you will be challenged as we continue looking at the Sermon on the Mount. We will take a new look at prayer, what prayer can mean for our own lives, and how we can begin to view prayer as something we get to do rather than something we should do. Pastor Lesly
