She was overweight from childhood, beginning around first and second grade. By the time she was 23 years-old, she was at her highest weight of 290 pounds. At that point, terrified of getting to 300 pounds, Betsy tried every diet under the sun, and she admits that "it consumed every minute of my life." She became food obsessed, tracking and counting macros and calories all day long. She managed to lose 100 pounds, but felt miserable. Then once she relaxed with her workouts, she gained back 50 pounds. At the end of 2018, Betsy came across a Facebook post of someone who shared Before & After pictures with Intermittent Fasting. She found The Obesity Code, and tried low carb. She also listened to Intermittent Fasting Stories and learned of the incredible success people had with IF. Betsy began IF in January of 2019, and found that shorter windows worked best for her, as they created more structure with her eating. She has lost around 130 pounds from her highest weight, and feels so much better. The health benefits Betsy has experienced are numerous. She has fewer aches and pains. She has not experienced any carpal tunnel or plantar fasciitis flare-ups. The major inflammation she had before IF is now gone! The advice Betsy would give new IFers: "Practice" fasting. It is practice, not perfection. Fast clean. Be patient, and give yourself time. Everyday is a new day. Once you get used to it, fasting is easy.  Share your intermittent fasting stories with Gin:[email protected] Gin on Twitter@gin_stephensConnect with Gin on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Gin-Stephens-370557866639779Read Gin’s book Delay, Don’t DenyListen to Gin on the Intermittent Fasting Stories podcast:Intermittent Fasting Stories on iTunes   See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
