Better Than Expected (Ep. 66)

It’s all about small victories when your team is going through a rebuild. The Orioles were given a tough seven-game home stand against the Athletics and Yankees, and they emerged from it in pretty good shape. Going 3-4 at the friendly confines isn’t going to get a club into the playoff picture, but it represented a big improvement over the O’s first slate of home games earlier this month.More specifically, John Means continued to deal, Matt Harvey put together his best outing as an Oriole, Trey Mancini found his power, and Cedric Mullins remained amazing. With nearly a month of the 2021 season in the books, the complexion of this team is becoming more clear. But there remains plenty of time for wayward trends to right themselves. On this week’s episode, the guys chat about the current state of the Orioles rotation, the departure of Wade LeBlanc, the brief promotion of Zac Lowther, and the impact of the Freddy Galvis injury. If you like what you hear, considering subscribing on your favorite podcast app or here on Substack. You can also head over to YouTube if you like to open an incognito tab for your podcasts throughout your work day.
