She claimed her first victim – a seven-week-old baby – within days of starting work at Grantham Hospital in Lincolnshire. Assigned to the children’s ward, children became the targets of her perverse personality disorder – Munchausen’s syndrome by proxy. Allitt murdered four babies and children. She tried to kill three others and caused a further six grievous bodily harm. Allitt’s crimes spanned just three months – February to April 1991.
