Headship? No. Ephesians 5:22 is not about that. Instead, the reciprocal submission practiced by a Christian couple is a wonderful example of how church members reciprocally submit according to the pattern given in Ephesians 5:19a and 5:21. Just like believers teach and exhort one another and then submit themselves to the teaching and exhortation they receive from one another, so too spouses are to teach and exhort one another and submit to that teaching and exhortation!
