Beyond Strength to Sacrifice | Beyond Belief

from Redeemer Weekend Sermons · host Bill Clark & Julie Bullock

David made a profound choice in 2 Samuel to not make a donated sacrifice, but instead to pay for the sacrifice himself. This idea of sacrificial giving is felt throughout Scripture. Bill Clark is joined by special guest Julie Earp to talk about the challenge to think about whether our giving governs our spending, or the other way around. Beyond Strength to Sacrifice Beyond Belief | Week 4 February 24, 2019 | Bill Clark & Julie Earp 2 Corinthians 9:10-15 NIV Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! Colossians 1:15-20 NIV The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
