Beyond the Arts Classroom: Developing Immersive Arts Educaiton
from Cross-Sector Conversations Hosted by QACSL Inc.
In our eleventh episode, we sit down with Dr Susan Chapman to explore the possibilities of immersive arts education and what happens when the Arts become more than a discrete subject area. Drawing on her research into Arts Immersion, kinaesthetic learning and inclusive education, Susan discusses how drama, music, movement, visual arts and other arts languages can provide students with different ways to think, communicate and engage with learning. We also explore how schools can build teacher confidence and capability to embed authentic arts experiences across the curriculum, and what this might mean for engagement, inclusion and learning in contemporary classrooms.
