Beyond the Fireworks
from Flickers of Light: Seasons of Reflection Hosted by John K Bryant
In this episode of Flickers of Light: Seasons of Reflection, John K Bryant reflects on a freedom deeper than fireworks, flags, and national celebration. “Beyond the Fireworks” considers the kind of freedom no government can legislate and no army can defend — the freedom found in Christ. As we give thanks for earthly liberty, this reflection points beyond temporary celebrations toward the lasting hope of the gospel: freedom from fear, sin, death, and the bondage of the self. A quiet meditation for those who long to see Independence Day not only as a civic remembrance, but as a reminder of the greater freedom promised in Christ.
