Beyond the Time Barrier: Part 3

With nothing but questionable math and paranoia on their side, two pop culture observers/zany podcast sidekicks/most excellent friends are here to give you some fun and maybe a little hope through a breakdown of time travel media. Beyond the Time Barrier brought a lot of questions about future technology into play. Surveillance, pandemics, genetics, fertility and sign language just to name a few. Are any of those topics on which our intrepid viewers got fixated? Nope! Give this episode a listen to learn about the backlot politics that went into making this movie and more discussion about the doors than you might have expected. Made during the height of the space race and cold war, this movie stands as a record of movie studio drama, the consequences of romance and just how much the air force was willing to let actors play around with their stuff. Make sure you’re subscribed on your podcatcher of choice because there is one more episode coming this month. Our recording sessions are intentionally twice as long as the content we need. Where does the extra tape go? into a bonus episode of digressions and bloopers is where. And if you want to pre-game, next month we’ll be watching the much maligned and very timey-wimey “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
