BFG

In honor of Rutger Hauer, I'd like to share a song I created a few years ago. I got the inspiration watching the film Split Second, and it took me many years to get around to creating it. Rutger Hauer plays a hard-boiled, loaner investigator in a flooded, dark future London plagued by a monstrous killer. When Rutger Hauer's character and his partner first encounter the beast, they realize they need to go get bigger guns. And so, my song BFG (you can guess what the acronym stands for pretty easily) uses samples from the recently deceased actor as well as a few others from the film. The drums are all samples of gun sounds as well. Feel free to give it a listen, download it, share it, however you like. This song is not a celebration of firearms, but of the weird blend of science fiction, horror and humor we often got from the esteemed actor Rutger Hauer and his contemporaries. They made great art, and continue to inspire other artists- including myself. This is a piece of my own art inspired by theirs. Thank you, Mr. Hauer. You always were, and are, one of my favorites.
