John Canzano is in talking about the tradition of college football. Canzano thinks that we are losing a lot of tradition in the sport because of teams refusing to play rivalry games, and the influence of tv now. Should rivalry games like USC/Notre Dame and Oregon/Oregon State be played? Canzano thinks that they need to be. San Jose Mercury News, Jon Wilner, joins the show to discuss the College Football Playoff and if we will see if any team can make a "Cinderella run" in a new format. Wilner also discusses the mediation between the Pac-12 and the Mountain West. Wilner feels like both conferences don't want to go to trial and need to come up with a solution so they can both move on as conferences. Wilner thinks that some rivalries are going to go away unless the big conferences get guarantees that losing non-conference games won't affect their rankings in the CFP. Wilner also talks about Oregon State and where he sees the Beavers in the next five seasons.
