#BHN van Velden's car crash Q&A interview | Trust in NZ media | RCR get's 'reality check'

from #BHN Big Hairy News · host Big Hairy Network

Brook van Velden probably needs to listen to some wise advice "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" as her weekend Q&A interview had her not understanding questions, not answering questions, making statement that were just contrary to common knowledge and one has to wonder why anyone would give this out-of-her-depth MP a vote. The latest 'trust in media' survey is out by the folks at the Journalism, Media and Democracy Research Centre which shows, among other findings, that in 2023, general trust in news declined from 45% to 42%, continuing a downward trend that was already evident in 2020 when the survey was first conducted. However, in 2023, the trust in news people consume themselves increased from 52% to 53%. Senior Lecturer in Journalism at AUT, Dr Greg Treadwell, joins us to talk about the findings. "Reality" Check Radio has run out of money so they are grifting one more time pleading to their listeners to give more to bring the product back. We understand, from reputable sources that RCR raised $5,000,000 to start up the conspiracy theorists wet dream of a media outlet...and if that is accurate that means they have blown through about $85,000 a day not to mention the other money that listeners are also giving them. ================================================ Come support the work we're doing by becoming a Patron of #BHN www.patreon.com/BigHairyNews Merch available at www.BHNShop.nz Like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/BigHairyNews Follow us on Twitter. @patbrittenden @Chewie_NZ
