Bible Authority

In this lesson we're thinking about the idea of evangelism, becoming a Christian, and our authority in religion. Why do we do what we do? Why do we not do some of the things that sometimes people do? What is our authority? What do we use as our source for why we do what we do? Our authority in religion today is God's truth. It is the truth that comes from God that is of supreme importance. It's the only thing that matters as it relates to salvation. Notice John 8:32. Jesus says, “And you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.” What is it Jesus says will make you free? Is it my opinion, your opinion, some other man, book, writing or the ideas of some counsel of religious men?
