Bible Intake & Application (Habits: Small Disciplines, Big Results, Ep. 01 - Message Audio)

from Mountainview Church Audio · host Mountainview Church

Our habits often tell a story of who we are, more than what we do. If I habitually consume alcohol, I'm on my way to becoming an alcoholic. If I habitually eat carbs and sugars, I'm on my way to becoming obese, and I might be a glutton. If I habitually stream video games, movies, or social media, I'm on my way to becoming lazy and lonely, and at risk of becoming anxious and depressed.Changing a habit begins with acknowledge who we're becoming. We look to the future or maybe even our present and we realize that we are not who we want to be. But we can’t just snap our fingers and stop a habit. It must be replaced with something. A habit must be replaced with a discipline. In a sense, disciplines are habits we create to change who we become. And the disciplines with the greatest impact are those aligned with God’s Holy Spirit. Spiritual disciplines are the foundation for a life that empowers us to resist self-destructive habits, transform us from the inside out, and change the trajectory of our lives.Welcome to our new series, “HABITS: Small Disciplines, Big Results”.#Habits #Jesus #Lord #God #Church #Disciplines #HolySpirit #Resist #Sermon #Spiritual #SpiritualDisciplines Mountainview Church carries the necessary Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) license to play and perform the contained Christian worship songs.
