Bible: Music & Dress Code

Based off of a TikTok phenomenon in regards to "Modest Is Hottest" by Matthew West, Derek and Lisa tackle two hot button church topics this week in church dress code and church music.  These two topics go together in this one song that was used to encourage girls at a church to dress modestly in order to discourage other church members from sinning.  The music at churches is often used to encourage emotions that get members to tithe more or evoke feelings on a specific issue.  In both arenas, Derek and Lisa conclude that if dress or music is used to oppress anyone within the church then it is not "of God."  But there is grey area to be found on both topics and nothing is ever as clear cut as people would want you to believe.  As with most things, running these topics through the lens of love will assist each individual in knowing what is right for them and their faith.  Listen in for more.
