Bible-Nomics 01: Spirit of Slavery

A serious look into the redemptive work of God reveals that it is in large part an economic one. When God snatched the Israelites out of Egypt, He formed a nation. In addition, the entire discourse of Jesus Christ in his three and half years of public work was about establishing a Kingdom. He went so far as to state that the gospel of the Kingdom was to be preached to the poor, not the sinful. All nations and kingdoms have an economy as a central and unifying system of commerce and culture. In this class, we return to the beginning and uncover the foundations of God's economic model. We find out how things easily go awry when we are driven by our survival.
