Bible Reading in Context

Reading the Bible in context is very important for understanding what it is saying. We need to ask questions about the text, such as: Who wrote this? Who is this written to? What is the situation that prompted the writing of the book? What are the themes? Are there repeated words or phrases? By finding answers to these questions, we can understand the context. If we do not understand what the Bible is saying, then interpreting it correctly and applying it to our lives will have mixed results, if not disastrous results.  This episode gives practical tips for reading the Bible in context.
