In this episode of The Deep End, we go deep with Dr. Preston Sprinkle, biblical scholar, author, podcaster, and co-founder of the Center for Faith, Sexuality & Gender. Preston shares how a rigorous study of Scripture led him to unexpected conclusions on two of the most emotionally charged debates in the church today: women in leadership and LGBTQ+ sexuality. We talk about his new book From Genesis to Junior — an honest, real-time exegetical journey through what the Bible actually says about women and church leadership — and why he didn't know where he'd land before he started writing it. We also get into the nuance behind yes-or-no culture, why "homosexuality is sin" isn't as simple a question as it sounds, the 83% statistic about LGBT people raised in the church, and what pastoral compassion actually looks like when someone asks "Did God make me gay?" This is a conversation about truth AND grace — not one or the other. Topics covered: What faithfulness to Jesus really looks like The debate over women in church leadership (complementarian vs. egalitarian) Primogeniture, Genesis 1–3, and what Adam's creation order actually means Same-sex attraction, celibacy, and navigating hard pastoral questions Why Preston refuses to give thin answers to thick questions The danger of cultural Christianity and sound-bite theolog _______________________________________________ 📱Follow our new instagram! - https://www.instagram.com/deependlecr... 📱 Connect with Lecrae - https://linktr.ee/Lecrae 📮 Join the conversation… Exclusive previews, discounts, bonus content, and more: https://deependwithlecrae.com/ Stream the Album: https://music.apple.com/us/album/reconstruction/1828052699 👕 Shop Lecrae Merch: https://lecrae.store/
