Biblical Cravings Part 4 Craving The Father's Authority
from The Kingdom Mandate Podcast · host Apostle Jason T. Bardwell
In the fourth part of Biblical Cravings, Apostle Jason T. Bardwell confronts one of the most fundamental questions in the Christian life. Who truly governs you? After exploring the Father’s presence, voice, and solutions, this episode brings those truths to their necessary conclusion, the Lordship and authority of Jesus Christ. Scripture does not present salvation merely as forgiveness from sin, but as a transfer of government in which the believer no longer belongs to himself. To confess Jesus as Lord is to acknowledge His ownership, His authority, and His right to have the final word over every area of life.Craving the Father’s Authority exposes self-government as one of humanity’s oldest spiritual battles. From Lucifer’s rebellion to the serpent’s temptation in Eden, the desire to independently determine what is right has always stood in opposition to the government of God. Jesus answers that rebellion with the call to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. This episode explains that biblical self-denial is much deeper than giving up temporary pleasures. It is surrendering our perceived right to rule ourselves and willingly submitting our desires, opinions, plans, ambitions, and understanding to the authority of Christ. The teaching also reveals that surrender to God is not bondage but freedom. Believers were never designed to carry the weight of governing their lives independently of their Creator. Through Abraham’s obedience, Peter’s step of faith, Christ’s submission in Gethsemane, and Paul’s declaration that he had been crucified with Christ, listeners are challenged to trust the wisdom of the Father even when His instructions exceed human understanding. True peace is not produced by controlling every outcome. It comes from knowing that the government rests upon Christ’s shoulders and that the King can be trusted with what we cannot control.Ultimately, Craving the Father’s Authority calls believers to move beyond verbally acknowledging Jesus as Lord and begin practically living beneath His government. His authority must shape our decisions, relationships, finances, ministry, priorities, correction, and daily obedience. Every decision becomes an opportunity to reveal who occupies the throne of the heart. This episode challenges the Church to stop asking God merely to bless what we have chosen and instead develop a genuine craving to surrender everything to what He has chosen, because Kingdom living begins when Christ is not simply admired as King but willingly obeyed as Lord.
