Biblical Prayer

Exile could have made Daniel angry with God, but Scripture gave him a truer foundation for prayer. He trusted God's seventy-year promise and remembered that God is righteous, merciful, forgiving, and powerful. Daniel also confessed Israel's sin without excuses, asking for help because of God's mercy rather than human goodness. Gabriel promised an anointed one who would atone for sin.
