Bicyclist struck by SUV in Kensington hit-and-run

An SUV struck a bicyclist and then took off in Kensington Sunday night. It was around 8:45 p.m. as the cyclist was going east on Tioga Street. Police said a white Honda Pilot going southbound on Jasper Street blew through a red light at Tioga Street and struck the cyclist. He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. Police said the 39-year-old driver left the scene but then showed up at the 24th District about three hours later. Police said the driver is now cooperating with investigators.
