Biden's Cookout
from It Be Ya Own People
The besties let us know who is on the guestlist for Biden’s cookout, and who will be hating from their lawn chairs at home. Things take a serious tone with a deep discussion on mass shootings and the general lack of gun control. Celi dishes on two great opportunities; an interview with Olympian fencer #IbtihajMuhammad on the importance of diversity and representation in sports and a discussion on prison reform with #YusefSalaam, one of the #ExoneratedFive featured in Netflix’s #WhenTheySeeUs. We are rooting for everybody Black at the #Grammys as the pair get into the biggest wins making history at the awards show. Gov. #BrianKemp just has to ruin the fun with new voter restrictions in Georgia that create quite the frenzy in the state senate. As always #SadBlackityBlackAssTruth gives us the real-real with #AmandaGorman, The Bonnet Husband formerly known as #DerrickJaxn, and more are discussed. #JLo and ARod’s first break-up is a “surprise”, but the episode really gets into #TheKardashian’s Final Season and LVP’s new show #Overserved. #TopChef is serving all the diversity while #TournamentOfChampions gives us new culinary challenges and a second chance for restaurants in need. **This episode was recorded on April 2nd, 2021.
