Bieber's NHL Draft Moment
from Sports News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Justin Bieber made a surprise, awkward appearance at the NHL draft to announce the first overall pick, sparking boos and groans from the Buffalo crowd. After the pick, he tried to hype up another “special guest” — turns out it was Auston Matthews, who also drew more boos. The league’s attempt to blend sports and pop culture backfired spectacularly, proving that celebrity moments can go terribly wrong when the vibe doesn’t match. While the draft belongs to the players, these stunts risk overshadowing the real action — and whether the NHL tries this again remains to be seen.
