Big Boy Engine Tours America
from Chicago News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
The legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 is on a historic cross-country tour, rolling from California to the East Coast to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Built in 1941, this massive steam engine—over 133 feet long, 7,000 horsepower, and capable of hauling a million pounds—was retired in 1961 but made a triumphant return in 2019. Now it’s stopping in West Chicago for a free public display at the Union Pacific Training Center from 9 AM to 3 PM Wednesday, before continuing its journey eastward Thursday. A true engineering marvel and living piece of American history. Support the show: Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
