Big Bubba Vs. Konnan

Season's Beatings, Bubba! This week on The Bubba Cast, we head straight into the heart of WCW’s most chaotic holiday season with WCW Monday Nitro live on December 23, 1996 from the Macon Coliseum—and a night where alliances shattered, questions multiplied, and Big Bubba officially crossed the line. We break down a stacked episode featuring a technical clinic between Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit in the U.S. Title Tournament, Diamond Dallas Page scouting his Starrcade competition, and Four Horsemen drama that felt one stiff breeze away from implosion. From Hogan’s unhinged nWo monologues to Sting’s growing mystery, Nitro was operating at full soap-opera velocity. But the centerpiece of the episode is the moment that still echoes: Big Bubba Rogers aligning himself with the nWo. We walk through Bubba’s match with Konnan, Nick Patrick’s not-so-subtle officiating, and discuss what's going on in the WCW Universe leading up to Starrcade.
